Good response. I have put a link up at my blog, maybe check out Lane's response there too. He says much the same as you.

I wonder what she would think of the scriptural admonition to "honor your father and mother?"

Why does "honor" have to equate to worship or idolatry? I can respect and lend credence to a good teacher, without equating him or her to some prophet or intermediary for God.

So much of this "emergent" stuff seems to be about no troubling people with things like sin and repentance, but let's all just get along and LOVE one another.

"Post-Christian" indeed. Good article. Thanks!

Interesting point, however just one main observation. It is obvious that there was a lot of time and effort spent on disecting this persons sermon/preaching etc.., did at one moment you stop to think or say to yourself, "what if I had prayed for this person for the amount of time that I put into crticizing her"

No. I did not. That prayer would be quite short. in fact, all my prayers are quite short. ;-) I spent about as much time praying for her as Elijah spent praying for the prophets of Baal.
